Things started going downhill for TPM moneywise once the TRU (trackday riders united) alliance they formed with ACE went belly up. At least that's the word around the campfire.
That whole thing smelled like pork..... I believe someone was trying to monopolize that track.... Just glad the general rider saw the writing and didn't get sucked into that idea... Free enterprise and competition is what keeps the price in check and value high.
While true... Having but one choice leads to a stale and stagnate agenda... same ol' same ol' thing. Track days are filling nicely at those I have attended lately... so much so that a few clubs have gone to four, even five - 15 min. rotations to sell more spots. It's really confusing to follow that format...
I got 5 or 10 sitting around here I'll make you a deal on. Never been washed. Adds to the authenticity.
I think TPM also mixed in cars for track days, that I know turned me off, as that seemed to be a focus for them.
So I dont know none of these NJ/NY semi-GTL guidos involed....so i need someone to tell me who the guy is who stands up and corners low and who's the douche Im about to shank with a 1m screwdriver? If it aint "trade secrets" and shit.
1m screwdriver!?!? What, you a commie capri wearing europee-on? We deal in feet here in 'merica! and shit.
From my understanding the TRUE thing was meant to do two major things. Help TPM stay in business with dwindling turnouts and 2 allow Ace riders to ride other tracks without additional memberships. Or this was at least what I saw
Non member, yeah. But with other orgs that go here, when you factor the “late fee” (10 days before the event) there’s no real difference. For shift workers like me, mid week track days are great!
That's crazy for that track imo. Hell barber is $250 at most for a day. Although I don't like njmp so I may be biased.
That's also how SuddenBraking's ACE partner pass is now a much more valuable commodity Shameless plug (ALL proceeds are going to the AFF, so hopefully it's acceptable): http://forums.13x.com/index.php?threads/absolute-cycle-trackdays.353524/#post-5348199
I prefer lightning rather than thunderbolt. I cant beat a 1 hour drive there, so that helps. With other track day competitors there, their price will only go up from this point. Njmp brings north Joisy and New York money and with that, is ACE’s core riders. I wouldnt be suprised if that clientele propelled Roy to that position. Thats just speculation on my part.
