    Hi all,

Calling the first gen R1 gurus out there.

I've set up my race 98 R1 with a total loss charging system resplendent with custom made blanking cover,do I need to blank the end of the crank with a bolt/crush washer??
I have asked some generic bike shop type mechanics and all I get is blank looks or pointless waffle!!

My main concern is whether there is an oil feed thru the crank that needs to be contained by a bolt on that lefthand end of the crank.

    Thanks in advance.

You're probably better off asking this in Tech section.

I would think spinning it over on the starter with the plugs out would answer that question very quickly. If the end of the crank gets wet in a hurry, bury a bolt in there. If not, you're good.

I like your thinking dude, elementary my dear Watson.
    A bolt is indeed required!
(I also found a mechanic who built these motors for racing,he confirmed this also)
