When I see a post like this I always have to ask. Which vendor did you buy the tires from and or who is the local vendor?
Brand X and Y use weird tire sizing designations for slicks and rains. So one needs to check the published tech specs for accurate width and diameter numbers. And I think a 120/600 for Brand X means that the tire is about 600mm in diameter but double check it please.
stickboy has been quoted in above posts.. that's our local b-stone vendor. (and michelin vendor). If he's smart, he'll reach out to him.
So Stick services and does track days in Michigan? Since he's about 800 miles away I would guess there is someone closer. And my point is to get to know your local vendor of choice as you're probably going to run into them sooner than later.
Just ask Dave Grey when you arrive at track. Then take off your wheels and get your Michelin’s put on you just bought.
I’ve run 34 front / 21 rear off warmers with that combination on my 675. I’ve run as low as 19 but 21/22 is a good start.
I run an Aprilia Tuono in advanced group trackdays, and run V02 slicks, soft front and medium rear. I’ve worked with stickboy over the phone, and I’ve had good success with 34 F / 22 R off warmers, keeping them below 36 F / 25 R off track. Wear at NJMP was excellent, but PittRace beat them up a bit. Spooning on a soft rear for NYST in a few weeks. Great grip...and I especially like the profile of the 120/600 front...tips and grips well!
Now i dont use warmers so i will pass this on. 5lbs rise from cold to hot is norm on stones pirelli and Dunlops with air. Nitrogen is 3 lbs from cold to hot. Come off track and check pressure and adjust and you wont have any issue with lbs rest of day. Have fun and enjoy. Steven
We used to set them to grippy. We tried the not grippy and slippery settings but that didn't work out too well.
