But this is a dam good deal. I purchased my van from this auction also. No fees included. Free to sign up and anyone at all can bid. I have gotten a few things from here. But with the serious van love here, this could be the deal of a lifetime with low miles. Please don't ban me. Just trying to help someone here out. https://www.auction.utk.edu/APViewItem.asp?ID=10465
I'm looking for a van, but that sounds like a lot of trouble for a 30 year old machine. Its a long tow from Knoxville to Chicago. I can see how someone local may be interested though.
I think that $450 is a lot for that. You'd have to be a serious Ford junkie to drive more than 50 miles for that van. The 351 is probably OK, but the 3-speed automatic (C4?) most likely is junk.
That’s a 1ton, should be a C6 with a steep rear gear. My 89 Turd would run 90 no problem. I’d pass on this one because no EFI.
I'd rather have a vehicle that's run everyday with high miles than one that's been sitting for 5 years and low miles.
I got my current 98 conversion van from there. Been setting since Jan of 99. Had 28000 original miles on it. Put new tires on it, a hitch, a tune up and put over 20k on it in one year. Figured I'd share anyway altho its older.
I recently knocked the dust off an '02 GSX-R750 that hasn't seen the track in 14 years. A battery, one fueling hiccup, a brake flush AND on era-specific slicks (read: 16 years old), that thing ran like a beast for the ten days of riding I had scheduled. I see that van being little different, other than the cancer.
