Interesting, thanks. I re-read the rule, I'd say part "b" is kinda vague... pods do fine in rain. The way I read it, removing the lid or removing the snorkel and hogging out the opening should be legal. a. Air box design is free. b. Air box must be able to allow the engine to operate in all climatic conditions at all times. (i.e. rain should not stall the engine) c. The air box drains must be sealed
The airbox has to be able to retain oil from the breather in the event the motor starts to push oil. The FZ07 riders with the Hord box at Rd Atl were advised to correct the issue.
We raced sv with no filters forever and never had issue with rain. On FZ I made velocity stacks and pod filters. Making air box for this thing is nightmare, not sure how I will do it. May not make races because of it. I made separate can for crankcase vent but is vented to atmosphere.
It would be cool if a bunch of 50 year olds with notes from their Doctors consistently swept the podium.
You can defend your choice all you like but you know it's not a great bike. AndI do know shit about them...
Funny though, how the kawi's are so popular in the UK/Ireland. Dave from JG Speedfit was here a few months back, so I asked him, "How does Ryan Farquhar get so much power out of em" He whipped out his cell and showed me a pic of their dyno room, looked like the Exxon Valdez with 3 dudes mopping up oil" He said "Ryan's van was parked outside" ;-)
MotoST stuff so no clue who's record or anything else, it's just Gary talking big about his bikes again.
Really, what do you know about them ? Maybe the fact that Nixon's team won a couple of Moto ST championships with. Or the fact that AMA flat track teams ditched the SV for the 650 engine . Please elaborate on your knowledge of them
