I would try and support Accuproducts. They've been in the game a long long time: https://www.accu-products.com/ohlins/custom-suspension/st-46-tz125-tz250-rear-shock-system.html
I've ordered on and off thru the years. I know he is not always consistent and organized, but he does keep at it
I’d argue the “best” place to order a shock is a suspension specialist (Thermosman suspension or Jim Linneman). The Ohlins TTX-GP for a TZ250 is a custom order shock. There is no model for the application. Thus, anyone who advertises it as available is buying an in stock shock (CBR600rr I believe) and telling you it will work for your application. If they take it apart and re-valve the shim stack to work better for you is up in the air. I have had some very bad luck this last year with Dan Kyle. He took my forks and $$$ and then procrastinated at getting the job done for 6 months. Eventually he went to prison and I got my stuff back. On the opposite side, I very cautiously ask Mike Thermosman if he was interested in my project. His answers have always been professional and prompt. His service is excellent and he is a great asset to work with. My 0.02 worth
I would recommend accu-products or thermosman. I have dealt with Rick alot over the past few months. Great service. The TTX is more than you need on the TZ. Go with the more basic one. Also, I wouldn't hesitate to go the ktech route. Lenny Albin would be your go to guy there. E
I have used Ken at superbike suspension for 10 years. I send him all rs125 stuff as well as everything else. I have never had any issues with him. He used to have a tz125 as well.
Just wanted to say I ended up buying a Ohlins ttx gp, Rick at accu products built it for me, no testing yet, I agree it is way more then I need, but was in the budget so why not, hopefully it works as well as he says it will!. Was my second order from Rick, I was hesitant when guys above first mentioned Rick, cause my first order took months to receive, but he always kept in contact, I realize now he is doing the best he can and believe he is pretty good to deal with, just be prepared things may not go as quick as you need is all, but he will pull through, and seems very knowledgable, my first tz and he answered a lot of questions for me, and gave a bunch of advice. Not Ohlins dealer, but for other parts, I have also ordered from sunrise, and as long as they have it in stock the turn around is FAST, stu is great to deal with, super fast shipping.
just to clarify: sunrise is Rising Sun Cycle or RSC. Buying your GP bike parts from shops like RSC or AccuProducts supports those shops that support the sport. parillaguy
Yes, that is what ment, and I agree with you 100%! I love 2 strokes, although this is my first real GP race bike, so I am new dealing with both these companies. Nothing but great things to say about Stu, at RSC.
AccuProducts dude was an interesting conversation when I called. felt like a lot of random facts and chit chat was coming at me fast that i was not expecting haha. but my starter nut/tool came real quick, painless transaction. would not hesitate to order again.
