These guys don't care about auto racers. I posted this on my FB page.
He was a big part of my childhood watching drag racing.
At that time I was a loyal Chevy fan, but there was no disputing his influence.
    RIP Mr Glidden :(

I too, was a Chevy fan, but my best friend was a Ford guy, so I heard about him *a lot*, and had to grudgingly admit his superiority on a number of occasions. Bob was "Mr. Pro Stock" when it was super cool. Technology has come a long way since then, so it is a little like being a 500GP champion. RIP...

How about the year he strayed from Ford and kicked everybody's ass in a Plymouth Arrow? He was a heck of a competitor, gracious winner, and all around good guy - a racer's racer.

I used to pass by his house and shop in Whiteland Indiana all the time. There were always race trailers everywhere. He was a good guy.

First IHRA race I ever attended in Lakeland FL, he was there with his first Pinto...the one he bought from Wayne Gapp and Jack Roush. He didn’t make the finals, it was Bill Jenkins Vega and the Gapp&Roush Pinto, with Jenkins winning. But, from then on, he was a force. The other Pro Stockers had to up their game.
