'Completely crushed. Kurt was one of the best. The last time I spoke with him was this past summer at Road Atlanta. I was hemming and hawing about what tires to run on the bike I'd just built and never raced before. The dude made me get out of the way as he pulled my wheels off and took the wheels and warmers off his 250 and swapped 'em to mine...at first call...so I could do practice. Kurt was the kind of nice most people could only hope to be. My heart hurts. God speed, brother, and prayers for your family.
Inaugural Sippy Cup featuring Kurt winning first place which included bonus trophies of a large sippy cup and a stuffed monkey. The precursor to E class. Feb 10, 2008 at Tally.
I met Kurt and his family at a GNF several years ago. Great guy, and, by the looks of his kids, a great dad. Prayers of strength and compassion for his family and friends.
When I think about why I love WERA so much it is because of the family. I’ve never even tried another series because of that family atmosphere. No one personified that more than Kurt. If you needed a hand or a laugh he was always there. It won’t be the same without him. RIP Racer.
Kurt was a southern gentelman, family man, consummate club racer and a good guy to boot. This is a huge loss for the WERA paddock. I used to have a running joke that if Kurt wasn't at the track WERA must not be racing that weekend. He was always there. RIP buddy.
Unbelievable news, Kurt was one of the most caring, giving individuals I have had the pleasure to know. He is a huge loss for the Wera family. Prayers and condolences sent for his family. Truly, horrible news.
I only knew him through the beeb. Still feel like I've lost a friend. RIP Gutted for those left behind.
