Looks like we're (wife and 12 y.o.) going to stay in Birmingham for a few days after Barber next month, probably until the 5th. Any advice on where to park (RV campgrounds/state park) and things we can't miss is appreciated.
Not that you don't know this, but try to find some things to do indoors. It's pretty miserable to spend all day outside in that heat and humidity.
Red mountain park. Has zip lines, adventure courses, segway tours, mine ruins, trails for hiking and biking Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
Dunno, never towed a wife and kid. The elevator is pretty big and there's plenty of room for turns Seriously though, I know I could spend an entire day there. Evelyne would be over it in 30 minutes...
Go West to Tuscaloosa! Bryant Museum, Bryant-Denny Stadium, etc. You won't feel like a loser there! Drop in and tell my boy Nick I said "Howdy and ROLL TIDE!!"
Depends on the wife and kid, If you rush it's still a few hours just to walk through everything, if you take your time I could see a solid half day.
There will be a great race in FSS if you care to watch it again. As far as parking please don't do it in the turns this time.
Last time I was in that area I checked out http://www.southernmuseumofflight.org/ Very well done and family friendly small aircraft museum. If you visit make sure to drive around the block. Its amazing what planes are sitting outside at the nearby airfield.
