Ya. It's really just a financially well off persons playground (boat owners). Some do well with sponsors (Miss Geico), hydro stuff you can make decent sponsor money. I know a very succesf offshore team boat owner and his goal is to not have to fund over $250k out of pocket after sponsor money, race in Ft Lauderdale is sick how much money is floating (or sometimes not).
