I just picked up an NX5 RS250 that I was wondering if you guys could help me identify and learn some more about. the plan right now is to clean it all up and fix it up to sell. I already got it running, it needs the carbs cleaned but seems very pissed off and ready to haul ass. links to manuals to adjust the power valves, etc will really help. if you are interested in buying it hit me up also. I will get photos uploaded when I get home.
Alright. going by the ram air intake system that was introduced in 1997, and the frame saying MR01-9810058 , i am guessing it is a 1998 RS250R
here she is naked plastics off front quarter ecu I'll get some more photos after fathers day and what not it needs a good cleaning

I am pretty shocked at the response. There is a pending sale for the bike already. Thanks for the info on the bike, too! If i could afford it, I would love to keep and ride this bike, but it deserves to go to someone more experienced than me at this time. Some day....
Nice find! I have a '99 NX5. Hope you found all the info you were looking for. Its a pretty major commitment to keep one of these running and track-ready.
I guess my big question is who is going to start making crankshafts for these things now that Honda has decided to no longer product them?
According to a recent post on TZ250.com, "A guy in Italy" is building RS250 cyls and will soon be moving on to cranks.
I am currently working in Taiwan and my dad is handling the sale of the bike. When I hear from him that it's gone, its gone, but as far as i know a sale is pending and it is being taken care of. Once a check cashes and I hear from my pops, I will then consider the bike sold! Thanks everyone... of course i find out about a guy starting to make cranks after i say goodbye to it. oh well, i'll keep hopping up my aprilias.
