At the extreme speeds he was traveling the winglets created turbulence that shook the windshield until those two sections fractured and broke off.
Can't access FB here at work, pic please? I need a chuckle as the level of stupid at work today is high.
"rules already say that winglets may not protrude beyond the widest part of the fairing, and the fairing may have a maximum width of 600mm." http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/motogp/2016-motogp-rules-summary/

I own a 2013 1000 and thats exactly how my OEM looked. Not sure if the smaller bikes are the same. But it is def a Ninja, which I hate that name on this bike. Peeled my gawdy Ninja stickers off.

Ummm there is somebody actually developing this for real. And they seems a serious enough outfit to make it work. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=907993442652996
Take a look at the Pramac bike and you can see the black fairing extenders they added to make the fairing wide enough. If you look closely at Dovi's bike you can see it on the clutch side of the bike, brake side is hidden in shadows.
