Video coverage was good but the English guy was awful. Watching DSB today and I couldn't keep up with the amount of wrong calls he made from riders, track position and who was actually doing the passing vs who was getting passed. I will say that Russel has come a long way. It used to be entertaining just to listen to him stumble through with his accent but he seems to be crafting an appealing style and even kinda crafty with his subtle jabs, saves and bailouts for the "boob" who was next to him.
Plus, you can make a drinking game, drink anytime he says "right here" or "today", shot if he says "right here today".
If you watched, Greene's calls were from timing and scoring... which lags from sector to sector. Russell was from the video feed and up to date. Once Greene can identify from the video he will improve too
Green and Russel we great (green is a great addition), Daniel seemed nervous but I think will get better with time. Much better than speed.
Not too bad but Greene was totally butchering CU's last name. I could never quite figure out how he was trying to pronounce it but Ru$$el had it right. Overall, I'd give it a B+. Not too bad but room for improvement. Watching it same-day and only hours later is definitely much better than what Speed gave us so I really can't bitch too much...
CBS Sports Sucks I have VERIZON FIOS service and they broadcast in standard definition - Non HD. It just plain old sucks. I watched the pre-race and just fast forwarded the DSB as the picture quality is just ... like in the 70'S... it and went to the AMA web site for the superbike results. I definitely miss SPEED in HD. The pre-race commentators were pathetic...just like the picture quality.
And I forgot to mention that AMA racing is now officially ranked in the same league as Lacrosse and College Bowling since this is what runs on CBS Sports Channel before and after the AMA races.
...and for those of us that just finished watching Motley Crue performing @ the US Fest back in 1983 - Isle of Man TT starts on Velocity Channel in 3...2...1...
Damn Comcast. I'm forced to watch yet one more hour of racing in HD. I might have to switch to Fios so I'll feel more like kicking my dog.
