Some of you know part 1 of this story,my wife and I are foster parents and got a little girl when she was 8 weeks old and adopted her in 2011.Now for part 2:this little girl we picked up at the hospital the day after she was born(we even got to name her) last July.Last week we finalized her adoption. So now,I would like to introduce Kaylee Jo Clark,my daughter.
Good for you and congrats. I was on the baby thread saying how I don't like them......actually though I really like people who adopt instead of making a new one! That kid needs a good home and you didn't make an extra one. Thanks! You rock!!
Congratulations Daddy!!! There are so many wonderful years ahead of you. At times it may not seem like it but trust me, parenthood is sooo worth it!
Michael, people adopt because other people make new ones. There are no "extra" babies, there are just children who need a home and love. Every baby is special and important...
That's exactly what I mean. But if I decide I want to have a baby I have the choice of putting an extra one on the earth while not taking in one that needs a home right now....in effect, doubling the problem. I would choose to adopt every time. It just makes more sense and I applaud everyone who chooses to do so. This is just my humble opinion. I'm not knocking the people who have had children and I actually like some of their kids! If each family that planned to have 2 kids would have one biological child and adopt one instead of having 2 themselves that would help a lot of needy children that deserve good parents. We will have to deal with the 7 billion....Soon to be 13+ billion people we have already. Unless we change our ways we can't sustain those numbers.
