Bought a new tank for the SV. Didnt come with a key so gotta swap caps. Playing hell getting the old one off and still no luck. Anybody been through this before? Any suggestions on getting the cap to unlock so it'll pull out?

When i forgot my keys at home once we ended up using a screwdriver and wrench to break the tumbler.

Have you tried the key from the bike?
I know as a fact that the key from several different bikes open my tank, even though they wouldnt start my bike.

And when you're done trashing the fuel cap, give Yoyodyne a call and get one of these. Dead sexy in terms of function and reliability and no key to forget!

Thought about this option but just wasn't sure whether it would even work and if not, then making it impossible for a locksmith as a last resort. But ill give it a shot and see what I can do. Worst case if that don't work I'll drill it out til there ain't nothin left in the hole ! :D

Drill the hole big enough to drop an M-80 in there to blow it off.

YellowRacer I can pass this guy...

    You'll need two things

    1) A flat head screw driver

    2) A hammer (or similar object)

Directions - Put flat head screw driver into the lock (where the key goes). Hit the end of the screw driver with the hammer (Or similar object). It'll destroy the pens inside the lock and you'll be able to open it. Just turn it like a key.
