That is one of the differences the other is the MLV-C has the lower back protection which the racer vest has not got. The main reason for the Racer Vest design is some riders especially on the newer GSXR bikes said the CO2 cartridge was getting in their way moving from right to left over the tank. So we moved the cartridge and activation system to the rear. Both vests are designed to work with the hump in your leathers Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you :up:

Not sure I want to be that visisble on a bike I try to balance the being seen by cars with the not being seen by the cops The jacket is nice bu I'm more into the dual sport style than the sportbike stuff. Thanks tho!

FYI- Lionheart Moto (the suit Draik wears) is working with Alan at Safermoto right now to integrate an airbag neck vest into their suits. Should be on-line in a month and a half and cost under $1400. I believe that's about $400 less than the Spidi... Edit: STG sells the Spidi's for $2200 so the LionHeart Moto are $800 less...

@mmfoor.....I've been using the Mlv for 3 years now with excellent results. That being said, just remember that the lower/larger vests have a greater potential to fail when sliding across the asphalt. It's never happened to mine but I've seen it happen to buddies of mine. I'm considering changing to the racer or neck only version for that reason. Mlv is still a good choice but defiantly something to think about
