Being a long stroke, maybe it couldn't match the EX500 in HP. But the fuel injection and such may make it a cool platform to have. So good to see Honda and Suzook stepping up with some good entry level / smaller race options for us. If this is a repost, BM! I am too challenged mentally to search for any damn thang!!! And as cool as the Kawi 300 is, I think Honda just trashed the sales revenue Kawi was expecting!
I think Suz is building a 2-fiddy twin or some such. Holy crap, if Honda is paying money in WERA races I'd be all over that if I was a younger whipper-snapper like some of the many punks that frequent these pages.....
The recent Motorcyclist article is guessing mid to upper 40s in HP, which would be close (I believe) to the EX. Not sure how it would do against the EX with F3 setup, though.
I'd like to hear more about this. I'm still in the planning stages for my next track bike. My 1125 is sold and will be delivered Saturday. My current plans are for a WR450 super single (which I already have). Something a little more durable would be appreciated but I don't think this 500 is going to be too light on the track if it's 420# stock with a full tank of gas.
You can build sv500 or 600 for less money and dominate class. Need supersport class for this bikes to grow class.
xtrm gives you a debit card you can use anywhere. At least that's how mine worked the last time I used.
The Honda link says all 500 4 stroke classes. I guess that would be D superstock and D superbike. But there is no D superstock and D superbike Nationals
So this thing is legal for 3 classes? That's $2250 a weekend? The press release couldn't be any more vague if they tried.
