I may end up in the Harrisburg area. What is the racing like up that way? Any endurance or sprint only? What are the local tracks? What is race attendance like this year? I've been racing for 15 years or so...just never out east. Thanks in advance for the info.
Mid-Atlantic/Northeast schedule this year Summit Point - 2.5 hours PIRC (formerly BeaveRun) - 4.5 hours Nelson Ledges - 6-7 hours VIR - 7-8 hours Mid-Ohio - 8-9 hours Road Atlanta - 12-13 hours North Central Grattan - 12-13 hours Blackhawk Farms - 15-16 hours CCS Atlantic NJMP - 4-5 hours Carolina motorsports Park - 11-12 hours New Hampshire Motor Speedway - 9-10 hours Daytona International Speedway - 17-18 hours I can't tell you what the attendance is like compared to anything else as this was my first full schedule year racing, and a lot of my first times at any track other than Summit Point. I will tell you that if you come out this way, there will be one more on the grid! In the final round at Summit, the middleweight solo had 17 riders and the attendance seemed to be down from the first few rounds there this year. In the Heavyweight Twins races, there were at most, six riders in the novice class. I can also tell you there will be at least two more experts on the grid next year also!
VIR - about 6 hrs BeaverRun aka Pittsburgh International Race Complex - about 4 hrs Mid Ohio - about 7 hrs Nelson Ledges - about 5-6 hrs New Jersey Motorsports Park - about 3 hrs Rausch Cree...oops...wishful thinking your drive/towing times may vary
Yeah, I quoted him a little high on the travel time, because if he drives a 2000 4runner, he'll be stopping for gas around every 170 miles.
you guys that live up here need to buy a Honda CRF150R or something equivalent and start coming down to Allsports in the winter! we need new meat
Every time I see you post about it, I get all excited and then realize that I'd most likely be single, forever, if I spent all winter racing around too!
I might dust the spider webs off my 110 and do that a couple times. its been 3 years since i was down to allsports.
I would add the NY Safety Track up by Albany (6 hours) but i think that's just for Track days at best. Still, the layout looks to be awesome. Opens in May of 2013. There's a few more Supermoto tracks up in NY if that's your thing. BeaveRun, NJMP and Summit offer SM tracks as well. I think BeaveRun will be your closest track, Summit Point second. Mid Ohio is well worth the drive.
I know of a WERA and Motorcycle racing friendly barber shop where all the cool kids go to get thier hairs cut..... Todd
Allsports GP kart track in Dulles VA look it up on Facebook, we have a group on there "Allsports Mini Motards"
TakeItApart did quote exaggerated travel times, as he stated. I'm 1.5 hours north of Harrisburg. I can get to Summit in 3.5, VIR in 7, Rd.Atl in 11.
