Not the first time it's happened. I get a guy who seems to be really interested in buying what I have to sell in the classified section. Asks me for my paypal address. I give it to him. And then, poof! he's gone. Is this some sort of scam?

That or dudes are wishful thinking in the buying arena and then realizing "Oh S#&t" when they find out they actually have to pay for stuff before they get it.

I only say this because I was jerked around for the past week by a dude who swears he wanted to buy a bike I had for sale, then calls ten minutes before our meeting to exchange title for cash and claims his 'uncle' didn't want the bike anymore.

Integrity. It's not a given, unfortunately.

I'm guilty of doing this. I'll typically make several inquiries at once, just trying to find the best deal.

Why ask? Have you've been receiving Viagra and Nigerian money wiring scams email lately? I get those too... apparently a lot of people in the States have bad libido and shit ton of cash laying around.

Eh, happens all the time, I just add them to my ignore list, I already know they can't keep their end of the deal.

I have the opposite problem. I try to go buy something - and just can't get a seller to respond. I had one this week on craigs list. Selling a small lcd monitor. I need an extra one for a spare computer - so i email him asking the usual questions. He answers to my satisfaction.

Great! I want to come look at the monitor and buy it I email him, his asking price is fine by me, I have cash i tell him.

No reply. A day or so goes by I email again, maybe he didn't get the first email. No reply. I start looking elsewhere, I see he advertises in craigs list again, i email him - no reply.

Umm why list something if you aren't gonna sell it.

Not just this one guy but its happened tons of times. Don't people wanna sell their shit if they have it listed? seems like half of them can't be bothered or something.

Deal ain't finalized until the money sent TBH.

I'm a good buyer, ebay told me so... my paypal account has seen more action then jenna jameson porn resume. Last October, I brought so much shit the bank put a freeze on my account because they thought my credit card was stolen.

Are you asking dudes for Paypal addresses before deciding who to pay?

this is why Paypal/Ebay blows ass. They can freeze accounts at anytime and you can't have your money.

They only let you take out a certain amount per month, and with some accounts...you have ot maintain a balance.

They are not a bank, they are a money handler for person A and B.

Not all the time, sometimes I give them my paypal addy.

A lot of sellers are slow to respond and I don't have patience when he comes to buying things.

Lots of scammers on craigs list, they want to deal via the net,not in person.I've been checking out loaders and such and keep getting sellers who tell me they are in the gulf on an oil rig.The machine is at Ebay motors and if i send the money to paypal they will release the machine and Ebay motors will ship to me.I get 5 days to inspect and if i don't like, they will take it back. like sure......to good to be true!!!
