Heres the bike I just picked up.
    Odometer reads 3200 Kilometers = 2000 miles.
New Power Commander just installed and I believe needs a custom tune as stated on work order.
Tires build date 2002 (New ones will be installed)
What are the best racing slicks I can run on this bike. Currrenly has 180 rear.
Fuel tank has fuel seeping from front throttle side mounting nut?
Probably from over tightening the bolt huh? Small paint crackin/scip right in that location. While riding today very small amount of fuel was spraying onto my forearm.
I opened the airbox which is a stock unit and cleaned out interior and replaced air filter. While doin this I noticed front cylinder spark plug cap was not fully on the plug? This bike has 2 plugs/cyclinder (I had no idea)
Battery and fuel pump is apparently new.
Front wheel is hanging up on brake pads, could calipers need cleaned or rotors warped? Calipers look clean as does the whole bike.
Ya'll probably know I'm a relatively new member here and really don't have any knowledge on tackling repair projects but it does'nt stop me from tryin and learning how to get it done.
Just caught myself out mentioning the bike was "bought directly from Ducati"
Do I secretly want a Ducati? Maybe

The Mille was standard and the Mille R came with all the goodies. It wasn't till later years that Aprilia started calling the standard model an R and the good one a Factory. Yours is a Mille R .......not a Factory.

Did you get a service manual with the bike? If not I may have one.

Great bike and tons of fun. Congrats!

Did'nt the Factory have the Ohlins forks & rear shock as this bike has?

There wasn't a 'Factory" model that year. The bike with the "goodies" (Ohlins & Brembo ect..) were Mille R's. The standard bike was just called the Mille. In later years, the srarted calling the standard model a Mille R and the bike with the Ohlins stuff the Factory. Similiar to what Kawi did with the ZX7's, ZX7R's and ZX7RR.
