they sold more budweiser than any other place in the country annually. that says something!

i saw some great shows at the hammerjacks at the stadium.

the original was on charles street! then the stadium...then they moved to near scores....now they are gone.

The original closed in 95' or so - it's a parking lot for the Ravens stadium now.

That place was insane back in the day, it was the premier metal music venue on the east coast. All the heavy metal bands played there even after they made it big.

    Everyone has a Hammerjacks story.

the original was actually a shit hole on charles street. for like 4 years.

then it went over to near the stadium.

you had to see crack the sky at hammer jacks if you grew up to past drinking age in baltimore. last show i saw there was dead milkmen, mojo nixon, and the cavedogs.

i lived in boston when they closed. there was an article in the boston pheonix about it. haha.

it was for sure the white trash mecca back in the day!

    American Visionary Art Museum

One of Baltimore's hidden gems. http://www.avam.org/

"Like love, you know it when you see it. But here's the longer definition, straight out of our Mission Statement: "Visionary art as defined for the purposes of the American Visionary Art Museum refers to art produced by self-taught individuals, usually without formal training, whose works arise from an innate personal vision that revels foremost in the creative act itself." In short, visionary art begins by listening to the inner voices of the soul, and often may not even be thought of as 'art' by its creator."

This place is cool and different. I dont know of an art museum like it. A lot of the works are by crazies.

Its truly unique to Baltimore, AFAIK.
