plan on doing my first WERA event at Barber next month. I know WERA requires a few extra things to be safety wired and I looked in the rule book but didn't see it. Someone told me the header bolts need to be wired, can somebody confirm this so I don't waste my time.

    Thanks!

i read through the rulebook and didn't see it, which is why i asked to confirm with you seasoned WERA racers. read it again and still don't see it in there, so i assume it's safe to say it's not required.

    thanks!

you guys are a tough bunch, but i didn't expect anything less though especially when it comes to rulebook questions lol. just don't wanna drive 12 hours for any surprises and i hate working on the bikes at the track.

    thanks and God bless.

You don't need to wire the header bolts. If you're missing anything you will likely just be asked to RTV it and get it fixed for next time.

    GixxerBlade Oh geez

Make sure you safety wire the tires to the rim and when you get to the track the tires to the track. Then you should be good. :D

    brake torque arms
    oil lines
    speedo and tach cables
    any pressure fed lubricant line

Quick question, how would you go about safety wiring these?

Curious as to what the Brake Torque Arm is?

And what I need to pick up at my local store in order to safety wire oil lines, speedo and tach cables and pressurized lines?

Brake torque arms are used on older bike, just a bar running parallel with the swingarm to hold the caliper from spining with the wheel.. Newer bikes dont have these anymore.
