I know it.... Sadly I think UFC cares more about marketing their own TUF fighters than anything. That's what UFC's have become, every couple week.. Paying $60 to see people w/2-3 pro fights, and then see the same people every 2-3 events. It's more about promoting their TUF tv show, and the goons they put on it, than it is about having exciting fights.

I personally have found strikeforce refreshing... FREE, exciting fights (Mussasi is a freak!) they space the events out, and have fresh faces in there..... Not Rashad, or Bisbing, or Joe "Daddy" Stevenson on an infinite loop

EDIT: Hendo was on a popular satelite radio show few months back, didn't have many (if any) positive things to say about UFC, and I think that was before they kicked him loose. Really sucks, got rid of him... For some reason they haven't really gone after Fedor (even though Dana has 10342234 excuses why Fedor sucks, or why he isn't with UFC) Nick Diaz is another guy, he's so fun to watch, he'd stand with Lesnar (weighs 170 pounds)... But Dana doesn't like him, so tells him to get fucked.... I just don't see how the most elite org in the world doesn't have Fedor...

Mirko's worst enemy is himself, he quits mentally. I felt sorry for Nog, i think its time for him to hang up the gloves. he's only early 30's, and his body has taken a huge beating for 15+years. dont want him to develop parkinsons

Dana says the UFC wont co-promote due to "gaming licensing"....... but ZUFFA is its own separate company from the fertitas gambling casinos. its been proven time and time again. its documented when the fertitas filed bankruptsy protection. they dont want to have someone come in (who dana says he's a can/etc and beat their top guys.) the minute Dana should get fedor, he'll be the next best thing since sliced bread. dana is soo full of contradictory bs its getting pathetic

Dana sucks, there making so much money and some of the fighters are being paid peanuts. The ppv numbers are up there enough for the fighters to get paid more.

Awesome win for the ax, always was a fan of him.

I'm glad hendo is out of the ufc.

I can't wait for swock (sword/cock tattoo on his chest) to get taken out.

I just want to clarify a couple of things that I have read on this post. First off I am not a Dana fan I think he brought MMA to the mainstream and he has done some good. I also think he doesn't take care of some of the up and coming fighters and talks way to much shit. About Fedor not being in the UFC last summer before he signed with strikeforce Dana did almost anything to get him. He offered rediculous pay huge bonuses and even said he could fight in combat sambo which is Russia biggest sport and the reason Fedor didn't sign with the UFC when Dana bought pride a couple of years ago. The hurdle that could not be dealt with was that M-1 global Fedors management wanted to co promote. This doesn't sound to bad but what this really means is that they wanted 50% of all revenues in any event with Fedor. Is he the best pound for pound sure he is but he just was not worth 50% to dana. Fedor does not have the draw in america to reall boost ppv buys to make it a smart business deal.

I then looked into why Fedor wanted to stay with M-1 so bad when he could be in the UFC and in big money fights that no other fight org could offer him. It turns out that he still had three fights under his contract with m-1 and when this contract is up he will get a significant share of ownership that will secure his future after fighting. After two more fights in strikeforce he will be part owner and can make a deal to fight in the ufc. He might not though strkeforce is getting better everyday and there heavyweight pool is getting really competitive.
So its not all Dana's fault he tried his best.

Dana seems to want to be a personality a bit too much. I think they have done great work bringing UFC into the main stream but as was mentioned a few times, they dont have a big enough stable.
Same guys just shuffled around like a deck of cards.
Also too many ppv, theres no way I am dropping 49.99 every 3-4 weeks for THOSE fight cards.
That being said I desperately want to see Lesner vs Mir 3 thats gonna be great! Mir said he wants to break Lesners neck and see him die in the ring. You can see they really hate each other. Besides Lesner was classless after he beat Mir in the second fight. I hope Lesner gets healthy and Mir keeps up with the 'roids (haha) so he can match up with that freak Lesner.

Yea not sure what the deal is with the Dana White hating, simply put, if it weren't for him and him alone there would be no MMA as we know it today.
The guy sold the idea to his buds (Fertitta's) and the rest is history. I, too, liked the old days of the UFC but in today's society it was unsustainable, a lot of ppl thought it was too brutal, hell, even today some states still have this latest version banned.

Regarding Fedor, I want to believe he is the best fighter in the world pound for pound......BUT, fvck him. Until he comes to the best MMA outfit and proves it, I wont buy into that speculation.
I mean is anyone out there in denial that the UFC is the top of the food chain regarding MMA fighting? Seriously?
If you look at the history of champions who came to the UFC, they all seem to get their asses handed to them. The only guy who held his own for a little while was Rampage, other than that, they all seemed to fail miserably.......just a few that come to mind: Henderson, CroCop, W. Silva, etc.....

So when do we get to see this greatest pound for pound fighter in the UFC, when he's all washed up? Too old to be truly competitive?

I was VERY disappointed he didn't take UFC's offer, he passed on what could have been one of the best highlights of his career, to become UFC HW Champion but instead, allowed his management team to make an incredibly stupid offer that they had to know would be refused. Call me nuts, but I think the champ is intimidated by the current UFC Champ and didn't want to square up against someone that massive, fast and athletic, I don't think their styles mesh well and that probably worries him a bit. Not saying he cant beat Brock, just saying he may not be as confident in doing so as he has been in prior fights. Hell, Arlovski 'almost' took it to him until Fedor caught him with that hook out of nowhere.

So in the end, I'll reserve crediting that guy as the best fighter ever til he man's up and comes to the UFC to prove his worth. And no one hopes for that to happen more than me. :)

You can't compare CroCop, W. Silva, Henderson, Fedor, in Pride to the UFC of today. Those guys are legends and fought under different (more brutal) rules and at a time when the sport was evolving. Its continuously evolving and the fighters are getting better and better, but the UFC is not the only measuring stick of a fighter's skill level... take a look at Gegard Mousassi.....

Dana is a personality 1) because he likes the attention, 2) because even when he's the "bad guy," it's profitable for you to know who he is at all. Doesn't Dana have his own clothign line or something? it wouldn't shock me if he had sponsorship deals of his own too.

The "the UFC is all about their 'TUF' tv show" complaint is a necessary evil for the business to make money. 'Reality TV' is popular right now. Insanely popular. Do you have any idea how many fans the UFC gains because of that stupid show with amateurs and washed up veterans doing 90% of the fighting? I remember watching the first season, and even one of the FIGHTERS was saying, "my girlfriend doesn't care about fighting at all, but now that it's a reality show, she knows all the names of the chokes and stuff."

They're not running TUF to find good fighters; they continue TUF to build interest in cheap fighters. If the winner is successful, and earns them more money, then that's great. If they go nowhere, they're only out $100k and some sponsorship prizes for the whole cast of the show.

The fact is 95% of their target audience doesn't really follow the sport, so the names in the matchups rarely matter. They're giving you a vested interest in the fighter's as people to build that name recognition, even if they're scrubs. I hate Chris Leban because of TUF season 2(?). If i hadn't seen that season, I wouldn't care at all about watching him fight.

It's a brilliant financial move that has absolutely diluted the sport. But that's the cost of business. I'd even go so far as to say that a lopsided victory is more 'entertaining' to the majority of viewers (but not the true 'fans' of MMA), so there's not a ton of motivation to set up good cards...
