    id like to buy a newer 750 motor for my k6. Preferably a 2009.
    I've learned the hard way not to trust people so I do I tell the difference in the 750 motors? I know the 06 and 07 are the same and 08 and 09 the same.
    Anyway to tell from the engine serial #?

    The first letter of the serial number.
    N = 600
    R = 750

    Like the title says, I'm talking about the year of the motor.
    Not the size of it.

    The newer engines have an inspection port in the cylinder head (see red arrow).

    I know they have it on the 08 as I have seen it for myself. I have not seen an 09 as of this writing but I would assume it has it as that port is there so you can inspect the timing chain tensioner to verify it has extended correctly.

    Also I notice in your pic that the head is black. On the 06/07 750 head is aluminum with no paint.
