I got this same letter... coincidentally only 3 days ago! On my 3x5 cards he had my results in the 2008 Pro Flat Track series on them, and also asked if he could buy some autographed pictures. He's from Peoria, IL... the town of the most prestigious TT Flat Track facility (basically, it made sense in my mind) Weird that this post is almost two years old but when I saw the title I couldn't believe it. But hmmm..... I wish I saw this thread last week... cards are sent back and gone. :wow:
Royal does in fact collect autographs hoping that some percentage will someday be collectable, same for signed photos. He is a publisher and has produced event programs for AMA Pro Superbike events in years past.
Royal is not a fraud or trying to steal anything! I used to be Royal's private secretary a few years back. He owns a publishing company in Peoria IL and is an AVID autograph collector. I used to send these 3x5 cards out to people for their autographs!!! He has to have one of the biggest collections in the world. From motocross drivers, porn stars, actors, you name it. His biggest interest is WRESTLING! He has actually published 2 wrestling books that document the titles of almost every wrestling organization known. Even some backyard wrestling! So, if you are worried, you have no reason to be. Nothing illegal or scary here. He also doesn't sell the autographs. The reason the cards are numbered are because his collection is so large that we have to have someway to file everything!
Weird. Just get this same thing today and when I Google'd it, I was directed here. (Haven't been on anyones track since 2008.
royal duncan I met this guy 27 years ago. He made us some programs for the race series my family was putting on. he called out of the blue and said he would do them for free. we were a local series so i told him to go for it. They turned out pretty darn good. He is legit and i guess he has been doing this since at least 1985. bobby lewis
Royal This guy is legit. I work in the pressroom of his Publishing Company. My wife is his personal assistant. He collects autographs as a hobby. I do not know what his intentions are other than just being a collector, but I do know he is a millionaire, and highly doubt he will ever sell them, and I know for a fact he wont use them to forge anything. One more thing to add, is that ALL of his collection is kept in fireproof safes, in a vault in our office. He makes enough money off the programs we print. Just wanted to make anyone who may have been nervous, feel at ease. If you are still concerned that I am not who I say I am, feel free to call me at Royal Publishing. Bob is my name, and I am the printshop manager. 309-693-3171
i know this post is almost 3 years old, but just thought it was funny that this is still the first thing that pops up when his name is searched. i received a letter today from someone that says shes his assistant, but with it was a picture printed of me from my facebook from almost 4 years ago of me and two of my friends with our race cars...extremely grainy and low quality...definitely strange...
This guy sounds like the guy at Indy that has every drivers autograph that has been on the track. I thought it was someone goofing on me when I was on the Harley out there. Lol I guess they use the hunt with a shotgun approach and have hopes they get lucky someday. Ride safe, AAron
