Breaking Bad ROCKS! Burn Notice doesn't get any attention at all, but it's damn good too. Lie To Me. Couldn't get into Dexter, and (don't shoot me) but I never watched the Sopranos, and when I downloaded the first season recently, I made it like an episode and a half before I deleted the whole thing. Does it get better? I suppose it must. Heroes got waaaaaaaaaaayyy too convoluted somewhere about season 2 or 3. I quit watching about the time Sylar teamed up with the cheerleader's dad.
It's interesting that most of the shows you cite for excellence not only aren't on network TV, but never, ever could be on network TV, for obvious economic reasons. And that's why we're all gonna die.
Burn Notice rocks. Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, etc., definitely some decent stuff on the tube. And don't forget Deadliest Catch. Check this site out, they LOVE some of the fishermen.
Breaking Bad (kicks ass!) 30 Rock (funniest show in years) Malcolm in the Middle (why the frig won't they release the dvds?) The Office *euro* (funniest sitcom possibly ever)
Like you, I really enjoyed Six Feet Under, but the last 5 min on the final episode just ruined it for me. I really wish David Ball would have just ended it with the red head driving off and cut to credits. Knowing how everyone met their death was way over the top. JMO.. Other must watch series: The Wire, Dexter, Rome, Deadwood and the Sopranos. Also, the Shield and Sons of Anarchy. It seems like SoA is gaining steam...great plot lines and each character is really finding their legs. They have found the perfect balance between drama and action.
Ya I can see how that would be a love it or hate it thing. I loved it...I just thought it was great juxtaposing that with Claire driving off to start her life.
Homicide: Life on the Street The last season sucked out loud, though. The best episode was the one where Julianna Cox, the new M.E., was introduced. The ending was breathtaking.
