    3 weeks ago had a small incident and found a patch at Walgreen's called "2nd skin" ... best thing for road rash. Instead of using gauze it's a gel that keeps it moist and doesn't stick. Check it out, I'm a believer.

    +1 on the Silvadene, keep it clean, change the wraps often and until your skin forms over the wound. I've been through this process a few times... :eek:

    My wife, who is a wound care specialist, is a big fan of keeping it covered and using bactracin, which is an antibacterial ointment. I rashed my right leg several years back and you can't even tell that anything ever happened. Also, at one point in the healing process, she applied like a second skin coating, that sealed the wound from all outside elements.

    I didn't bathe the leg for the first few days, but the first time I pulled off the bandages and put the wound in water.....holy hell, but it was good to know I was alive. Eventually, you will have to wash the wound and keep it clean. The initial wash they did at the hospital, and thank god my leg was numbed up.

    Anyway, best of luck and hope you heal well!!!

    Best rash to lay down and die on is cement. Worst is, black top.

    Black top needs a 3M green pad kind of turn the buffer on and remove the dark stuff.

    Cement, you shower and or say the fastest healer I have found to be is "PLAIN WATER." Open wound is a self healer here (hand raised). I can literally begin using my third toe now, how many times I walked away from so many crashes is do the math.

    Social science your ass is kiss my ass knowing open air and the faster I could get under running water and run my hand over the rash is you should see the change in pigment in my arms today. My knees, lets say, my knees have biker tattoos is you could almost call it that.

    Yeah, the knees is get on my knees they bleed some if I am not careful; being over 60yrs old and crashing on the world's fast test is the rolling test bed I own is the testing continues on the same bike a few model years later.

    Busted foot, wearing only a tee shirt with sneakers and sweats, I have video of me in shock and the next day I was in sheet city for 4 months of recovery. I could not walk well, but had to. You pee/2/wee get that idea on a busted foot; the toilet blow flush goes on in the modern world is would have loved to shit over a hole outside is sleep dare all the time. I could not move otherwise.

    Hard stiff when red rash sets up and dries. It was so deep in the knees, try and bend getting up. The puss stunk so bad, it smelled worse than sun drenched road kill on some bye you country road.

    Social your science all up on the 'wound care' is could care less it comes out of a tube is the goop. The body is on it's own heal out of the air. As if I were in the deep jungle, what torn up body part would receive a lot of water wear?

    Wear ever the skin leaves the deer must, it must be a cup pull of mill's deep is layer after layer is I know burn/can fell skin burn off the body/come hell or high water, give me death or a bath.

    Gonna wash that spore inn type ointment write out of my hair; is gonna wash that shit from between my plumber's cleavage; is gonna wash dis shit, I be washing that shit off if I had a medical license to say, 'try that watt-tear wet tore some skinsay?' She works for me in the skunks works is my, "StinKnee Story" and I'm sticking 2 Wit.

    I am living proof I have flagged off more than one hospital ride is wave to the paramedics is bye-bye, not today! Just out testing is all, so soak you late tear keep the red side up. Update the bike and ear we go again is the test is back ON!

    :rock: :bow: <<< H20h Yeah! :rolleyes::crackup: :cool:

    I used to keep a tube of lidocaine jelly in my first aid kit when I was racing bicycles. Made it a lot easier to scrub the road rash. And I do mean scrub, use a soft brush and warm soapy water. The second skin stuff works real well. They have been using something similar in hospitals for years.
