Ok, that plane is hot. How much should I expect to bid? http://treas.gov/auctions/treasury/gp/learjet.shtml http://treas.gov/auctions/treasury/gp/miami_main.shtml What's the story behind these auctions? Seized property for what? Taxes?
That an old 25 with Jet A guzzling straight turbojets. Loud and fast. Pretty high time on the engines so would think one could pic that up for a few hundred k? Maybe less in this market? Looks mean in black though.
It's also not AD compliant, meaning there is some work needed to bring it up with airworthiness standards.
If yoiu look under general merchandise there's a bunch of cheap Chinese-looking scooter, MC's and ATV's. They all say export-only. -jim
In aviation terms that airplane is essentially worthless. Run out engines and not airworthy. I would guess it goes for less than $100k. I know we wouldn't pay that for it. They were neat airplanes in their day, but have some very serious operating limitations compared to modern corporate aircraft.
The question is....if it were trying to take off on a treadmill running the opposite direction, would lift be achieved?
