That's an understandment. That rider jumped on an SV650 for the first time in a race at the end of last season and was giving the seasoned SV racers a run for their money.
Those 2 Buell 1125R riders will be racing in the AMA this year , the Wera races were a test for the team Superbike Planet just posted a press release from the team.
In '07 I there were many many 1098's blowing up in the Dutch and German Superbike championships. They had to change the cases every 500 km's to make sure they wouldn't brake. I didn't see that many break in the '08 season though. So I guess the cases got improved. Very nice, sleek, and powerful bikes. I hate to race them
Hahaha - Alan is a friend of mine. Super nice guy, pretty quick too. He's done AMA off and on for a few years, nothing since 2005 though IIRC. He's won the #1 plate a few times at OMRRA as well... Best part is he's CANADIAN!
What type of modification did you make to get it competitive? A friend has an older buell that he takes to track days and he was talking about replacing the swingarm to get rid of the belt drive to be competitive. DO you still have the belt drive? Are there any major changes required?
I always heard he didn't want to do AMA due to much traveling. I guess someone gave him the right offer.
Thanks everyone for all the information. I have always had four's and I understand the change. I am probably going to get the 1198s. See you all at the track, Thanks
