Well, looks like the Senate passed the bill pretty damn overwhelmingly. Obama and McCain both voted for it. Went from 110 to 450 pages. Yeah, I feel REAL confident this is a good thing. :Puke:

Looks as well that it will still struggle in the House.

Still have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Bottom line is, the accountability is limited at best.

Oh well, I was wrong, 481 pages. And what's truly sickening is looking at some of the other money items they've added into it. This is completely ridiculous.

Well, thank God they got that tax credit for bicycle commuters and the tax credits for companies that produce energy efficient appliances in there. I was getting worried that they would forget that.

So, 113 of 451 pages related to the actual crisis they keep shouting about, and the remainder is completely unrelated. I guess they only added 3 pages to what was originally proposed, and then a whole bunch of BS. Sad days.

On page 290 there is an extension of a tax credit for a motorsports facility - does anyone have any idea which one?

SEC. 317. SEVEN-YEAR COST RECOVERY PERIOD FOR MOTORSPORTS RACING TRACK FACILITY.

    (a) IN GENERAL.—Subparagraph (D) of section
168(i)(15) (relating to termination) is amended by striking ‘‘December 31, 2007’’ and inserting ‘‘December 31, 2009’’.
    (b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by
this section shall apply to property placed in service after
    December 31, 2007.

Well, now we see why the house really stalled it. So all of the sorry asses would have time to send in their e-mails and make their calls asking for handouts to be put in.
    This is truly pathetic.

I was thinking the same thing. Everyone wanted a piece of the pie, all the senators controlled by their lobbyists had to wait until their backers got something good out of the deal. Disgusting.

My God, it looks like Indians started the Boston Tea Party thing!
looky up on the ship, there they are, acting like...wild Indians....
while angry white mens shake their hats at them...shameful...
errr...is this 'fore' or 'aft' on the tea ship? Is that the 'mizzen mast'?
It would be best to know nautical terms if we are going to discuss
the possibility of starting another Tea Party. Do we know any Indians?

Jesus, this whole thing was a farce to get other things passed. This is getting out of control.
