I get a kick out of the "handmade" description. An image of an oldworld craftsman wearing spectacles at the tip of his nose comes to mind. Sitting at his bench, applying rubber compound to a freshly hand woven nylon ply stretched over a brass doughnut shaped form... ... I think the Dunlops are called handmade because now a person has to pull the mold machine handle since someone spilled a cup of EARL GREY on the control panel and shorted it out.
Re: Re: Like a schoolboy on his first day... LMAO, ya, that's a pretty good image. Carefully laying down a layer of rubber, picking up his magnifying glass and inspecting it, taking a drag off his pipe while rubbing his beard, then slowly picking up the next strip of rubber and doing it again......
Re: Re: Like a schoolboy on his first day... The KR 124 was $152 Alot, but if I like it , its worth it. I'm cheap as hell but one thing I won't cut corners on are tyres. I like em to stick & I like em fresh... That goes for dolls too
Hand made, Hand Stirred, HandJob??? Whichever... I can report that I liked the feel & stick of the Dunlop KR124. Of course is was brand new & new tyres are always the shit... Scrubbed in fast, great stick right from the get go unlike the am22 I had been running. If you go by looking at it, it doesn't look like it will last long but that remains to be seen. It also looks as if it would be a great wet weather tyre. I'm hoping it rains on a few of the remaining Fasttrax races so I can check that out. All & All, I think I'm converted.
