yo Captain, can you get me one of these motors cheap? http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/products/motorcycles/adventure/xt660z.jsp?view=techspecs
Here's from the US site: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelfeatures/8/0/features.aspx Not sure if all the changes are talk from 07-08 or from 05-06/07. ? edit: Answered my own question: "New for 2008:"
WR250X is the street tard, WR250F is now called the WR250R. add lights, signals, horns, mirrors, 298mm rotor up front, 17's and call it a day. weight is 280lbs up from 276 on the WR250R. Hopefully the weight specs are way off since the wifely sort's 07 WR250F was porky stock at 234lbs... couple of nice upsides are FI and a 6-speed in both models, and a 4 valve head now instead of the old 5-valver. The WR450F and neither of the YZF's received the FI, 6speed or 4-valve head, I'd expect those in 09. Certainly aimed at the DRZ400SM market segment, I don't foresee great things for it.
Hmmm..... "Over 50 friction-reducing strategies have been employed inside the engine, including the use of wider crank bearings." Could this be the fix for the issue with the 06-07 failures?
There's a write up here: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/mcn/2007/September/sept10-16/sep10072008yamahar6/
How do we get this in the States? http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/products/motorcycles/supersport/yzf-r125.jsp
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelspeccompare/8/1622/0/compare.aspx Not much changed, little higher compression....wonder where the extra weight came from. I think the tank might not stick out quite as far, but it's hard to tell.
10g's for a 600!! What happened to the days when I could walk out the door for under 8 for a new 600.
