Opinons and experiences on Rear sets appreceated. Durabilty, Replacement Parts, and of coarse must look trick. Need a set for my 04 SV1000S. Bike will be used on both track and street so an optional brake switch would be a plus.
CFM-Woodcraft. Only because parts are cheap and almost everyone has them at the track and most parts are interchangeable. Say you need a footpeg and you went out and bought some Giles Tooling (which are beautiful BTW) but I know almost nobody at the track that has them.
Vortex or Graves! Graves are hot. Here's a link http://www.gravesport.com/cgi-bin/shopper?preadd=action&key=RS__030K I don't know if they have them for your bike but I know they have graves rear sets for an Aprilia yet they are not showing them. I'd call.
The gilles are def. the nicest looking, however, i question their crash survivability. My friend crash-tested his on his R1, and they didn't fare too well.
geoff maloney at gp tech sold us our valter-motos . we put 40 hours of endurance racing and 15 track days without any trouble . they also hold their value well.
I vote for Woodcraft. Trust me, when you damage your [insert non-Woodcraft kit here] rearsets at the track, and you can't find a spare peg anywhere, you won't remember what was so cool about the ones you bought.
Vortex suck, they have bearings that get screwed w/ a minor lowside. Same w/ those dang Aratas that the street guys are buying. Cheap ass rearsets IMHO, 'cept that they aint CHEAP!
i like the vortex the most. true, the bearings can easily be ruined in a light crash, but the action is much smoother and precise with them. thats the main reason i dont like the woodcraft. they're a little junky compared to the vortex, IMO.
