What's the favorate choice for this bike? Any advantage in running a 180 in the back, i.e. F3 wheel conversion. thanks
I've run the 120/70 and 180/55 on my street SV for a while now, and its never caused me any problems... don't know how it would fare for a racebike though. For tire choice, i'd vote for Bridgestone www.stickboyracing.com
Thanks guys. I pretty much figured that 180 wasnt necesary for stock power but figured that guys running SB might. Is F3 wheel same size and are people using those because they'r lighter or just convineance?
The stock sv wheel is 4.5 the ideal tire is a 150 or 155. The f3 wheel is 5 and you can run 160, 165, or 170. I personally like the dunlop 165 medium slick on mine.
If your running SB get some slicks. Our 165's win championships in many classes every year, and cost the same as most other brands DOT's. E-mail me if you want a price on some.
it is not about size but about compounds.I run 180 for better choice of tires.I like Michelins,PR4 and PR5.
