Pretty good idea--but it'll NEVER happen. All this super special stuff takes up functional passenger space. More seats on the plane means less flights means less opperating costs. Then you might say, well, they'll charge more for the flight becuase of the ammenities... and we'll all still buy the cheapest seat we can find.

WOuld be nice to nap in one of those suites instead of a chair half the size it should be on those long, overseas flights though.

You are forgetting that Bus. Class and First Class are the first to fill up on international flights @ $6k+ at seat verse the rest of the plane at $500 to just under $2k.

During the week, planes are filled with business travelers not bargin basement shopping tourists.

 

I disagree. The 747 is in intense competition with the A380, which has a lot of luxury interior options. Check out the Airbus/BMW design project for an idea. Intercontinental flight is one of the few areas left in the airline business where people will pay extra for comfort.

What's up with that wing design? That's got as much upsweep as the voyager. No way that can sustain the loads of a 747....
