Maybe the almond farmers can stop producing fake milk now...

To grow one almond requires 1.1 gallons of water, and to grow a pound takes 1,900 gal/ lb

Doesn't this bring up the age old debate on Cali needing to put up a desalination plant on the coast, but they refuse to put one up due to whatever reasons?

I get the feeling a lot of NIMBY comes into play with the rejection of desalination plants. Make it pretty enough, and they'll probably buy into it.

Well, they will need a solar or wind farm to power the desalinization plant. Sounds like a good use for one of those almond farms.

For sure. Well, even hippies like to take a shower every few weeks or so...I think we'll see a shift in priorities real quick when something most take for granted is no longer available.

I've always said we live in such a wasteful society. Spent enough time in third world countries to come back home and see that we used clean, filtered, fluorinated water to flush shit down the toilet, wash your car, etc...

They keep finding all this shit as the lake dries up, sounds like a good time to do some housekeeping.
