Fkn drill bit me. (See what I did? Drill? Bit?) Nearing two weeks in a wrist brace. No swelling, no pain except when I rotate to that ONE spot I feel a pop and then level ten pain. X-Ray was clean. I've had plenty of strains and sprains. Never felt something like this before. Doc gave me a surgeon to see if it's not better next week. Give it time?
Playing with one of those big ass Milwaukee drills? A Milwaukee worm drive tried getting me. Another doctor and another ex ray. Might be a broken wrist if it’s not getting less painful and use isn’t coming back.
Tendon and ligament injuries take forever to heal, especially in the wrist where blood flow isn't great.
Is the lcation is at the level of the wrist, at the base of the thumb? If so, it may be your scaphoid. A CT or MRI would then be needed to rule it out.
I have the same injury. Learn to live with it cuz its not going away. Theres two tendons that travel on the side of the wrist and theres a tendon sheath that covers them and keeps them in the channel. You stretched that sheath material or in severe cases ripped it. So now the tendons can move outside of their channels and they irritate and swell the muscles around them. Ive injured my wrist 3 years ago and last year went to see a specialist. X-rays, MRI and 3 months in a cast and then a brace, the specialist basically told me, only other solution is surgery, but you cant make it worse so dont think it has to be done nor or anything like that. So first thing they'll do is immobilize your wrist to try and get the sheath to tighten up. That didnt help me and surgery was the last option which i wasnt willing to do. Pain subsides unless im doing a lot of wrist twisting motion, like using a socket rathet or twisting a screwdriver. So i avoid that motion as much as i can. heres a visual. https://www.orchardhealthclinic.com/wrist-tendon-injury/ That visual is of the tendons for the thumb, but theres another set on the other side of the wrist as well. Heres the actual explanation of the injury https://upswinghealth.com/conditions/extensor-carpi-ulnaris-ecu-subsheath-rupture/
I would at least consult the surgeon. If it is something that needs to be repaired then it may be detrimental to wait. You need to know what you're dealing with. If your instincts are telling you there is something more than a sprain then I would go with your instincts and look into it further.
Dude, I got to visit their engineers (and a bunch of their competitors) a few times. Some of the shit they were developing back then was insane and getting to watch their torture testing was awesomeness. Anyways, some of the shit they were working on shocked me. <me> “You release that you’ll break arms, not just wrists! You’d get sued, it’s crazy!” <engineer to me> Yeah, we know but this is an engineering exercise. . . But it’s cool isn’t it?” they need to put some of those testing videos on the YouTubes. Freaking awesome shit.
Worked yesterday nary a tinge all day. Went to bed last night and when I reached to turn the lamp off Pop! Holy Fkn ow!
Suzuki has been shit the past 2 years, he's in muscle atrophy, that's why he done hurt himself. Hope it heals up Steeltoe. I can barely hold onto a drill anymore due to some grip/forearm issues. I had to handbomb 16 1/4" holes though 1,1/4" aluminum tooling plate on Friday and could barely hold the drill when I was done. Used an old electric Millwaukee hole shooter thats probably as old as me.
