Any details about this? He was a great, funny, crazy guy! I don’t see anything on RRW or anywhere else.
From Jr's FB page: David Sadowski Jr With great sadness I’m writing this to let you all know that those evening phone calls are finally gonna stop. Remember your last one it’s the final one. Until we meet again old man RIP DAD I LOVE YOU!
We all are sad after hearing about this. Id like to share this with folks so maybe others can get ahead of things HealthWise. Last July i had 3 stints put in my heart due to blockage. Im 58 now and actually not in bad health and once a yr. i get blood work done to check levels. Seems my primary doctor either wasn't paying attention or just didn't care. But was never told my cholesterol levels where twice what it should be. But basically, i ended up in ER feeling bad and after a test of flow in heart had 95% blockage of 3 major Arties. Well, they couldn't figure how i was alive must less driving myself to ER. Now after David having a heart attack i think and hope people will start getting checked out and make sure you don't end up in ER or have a heart attack. David was in way better shape than my fat ass. But the foods we eat can hurt us silently. RIP SKI we will miss you Sir. Steven
I have some pretty hilarious, and also some sad memories of Ski. He was always a good friend. I enjoyed helping his boys with their racing a time or two. RIP.
He was an instructor with the Jamie James Yamaha Champions school at Barber, (as was I, just in a much lower ability level) and we shared a hotel room during many of the school dates. Dave was such a great guy. Funny as hell and had a helluva wild streak in him. RIP Dave. I’m honored to have called you friend.
Godspeed Ski... Last saw him a couple of years ago at Dreb's memorial service. Seemed to be enjoying life after racing. Will never forget the first (moto) race I attended at Road ATL in '94. Ski, on a leased FBF Duc, battling with Corser, Edwards, James and Picotte for the podium (Russell had checked out for the win). Still think that Ski let Corser by on the last lap for 4th, which clinched the championship for him. Figured he was hoping to get that ride for '95 with Corser headed to WSBK. Meant to ask him about it at Dreb's service. Wish I had...
Man I can't believe I'm reading this. All I can say is that dude was genuine. The times we hung out and had beers at Road America, Barber and Daytona I'll never forget. Thanks for being cool and welcoming Dave. Ride and race on my friend.
What in the actual hell is going on in the world.... Yeah, that's a wake-up call, but it's impossible to even get in to see my Cardiologist right now....
