Is there any other kind?

    Oh, I'm sorry, I had it confused with a KLR650. Carry on . . . .

I know where there is a fully sorted Honda XR650R with Baja race pedigree available . . . a "smart shopper special" to be sure . . . .

    Cheers,

    Dave

Let's hear your best practices for patching tubes out in the wild. It's something that really can suck, and I've had mixed results. What patches/materials/methods do you use?

Spare Tubes..tucked neatly into spaces available. (quicker, and less hassle than patching IMO)

Tubeless. Ordinary plug kit. Dynaplug compressor. 10 minutes each.;)

One other item. I had a freak valve stem blowout. Never knew these existed before that.

Yep, will have some spare tubes too. Planning a trip out to Colorado next summer, and want to have a couple options to choose from.

You only need a front tube. It will work in the rear, also. I prefer a small bicycle hand pump over CO2 cartridges or a compressor. Less weight.

You can try using your sidestand to break the bead, but I prefer these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008OXIYM6

I want a Yamaha Tenere 700. Got some christmas money and started looking for one but seems damn near impossible. Anybody have a line on one? I like the looks of the new Aprilia too but not sure about throwing one down in the dirt repeatedly.

There are a few on FB marketplace. Will be tough to find one anywhere near msrp. Where you located?

I’d like to find a new one if I gotta pay full price. A dealer in N Ohio said he’s got one coming in February but if I have to wait I want a blue one dammit.

The ones I've seen for $12K-ish have low miles (300) and some add-ons. One in Montana and one in Colorado.

Apparently its a thing now for old guys to buy new bikes, farkle them out, then sell them with no miles. Something to do.

There’s one in Athens, GA on Facebook marketplace for $9000 that doesn’t look abused.

Pretty sure Roy did that, although he admitted he was disappointed in the bike as compared to his expectations (I think).
