Thinking about getting some light engine work done - bored throttle bodies, new cams, and such. Wondering about the tuning stage after the bore is done. Do I need to go to a dyno shop for this, or is it reasonable to use a closed-loop AFR autotuning system on the bike and just go ride it?

    what kind of auto tune?
Its ALOT safer on a dyno for starters but that also depends on the dyno operator.
    Do you have baseline #s?

Autotune with an aracer super 2 ECU and wideband AFR. It’s a full replacement for the stock ECU with its own autotune function. I’m just trying to budget out the engine work both in terms of total cost and total effort on my part. Sounds like I have to budget a day at the dyno as well if I want to do it.

what area are you located in? I would imagine having a good baseline map prior to starting would save some dyno time.

synch the TBs and calibrate the TPS before you start tuning
