I'm glad people are developing it, It will be better for the sport and the class. Just not counting my chickens yet. How many times have we looked at the specs of a new bike and said "LW racing as we know it will be forever changed!" Yet it has failed to fundamentally change since the SV came out 20 years ago.

I'm pretty sure his bike was never under the new min weight anyway.....

A couple extra pounds might keep it planted to the ground better anyway.

Same here. Cool to see some new development. I do think it has changed significantly just since the MA series started. Lap times prove that. I'd just be surprised if many people took the plunge in its first year, given that Aprilia doesn't have the best track record for reliability and cost of development/operation from what I can recall.

  8. RRP

    RRP Kinda Superbikey

and apparently hasn’t delivered any bikes yet. :D

Thats because there hasn't been a game changer in that class. Yea there has been better platforms. Perfet example is how many SV's went up for sale to fun Yamaha builds. Same thing except the Ape will be even better than the Yamaha or SV could ever be.

Im not even planning to go into the motor. I want to test the waters with just bolt ons and chassis development. I think itll be turning respectable SS times with a good rider. Possibly first lightweight bike into the 29's at barber....

Had a crazy f*#ker at Deal's Gap tell me he HAD to get rid of his Katana 600, and go to a 750 Katana because the heavier bike kept him on the road better. He kept crashing that "light" 600. lol

Have you messed around with traction control maps on the GSXR?

When I switched to Yosh ECU and harness it made the GSXR much easier to ride. Before bike would just hook up and not really let you steer with the rear tire.

It has an FTECU flash and I've played around a bit with the TC settings, typically running between TC2-TC4. It's my instructor bike, so no need for any kit parts....
