2021 NHL Hockey Season

Just found out...my high school is having an alumni game tonight and my son happens to be home. Looks like we'll be lacing them up in a few hours. It's been 5 years since I last skated and two for him. I'll report in the morning (if I can).

 

You better have a bunch of that brown liquor you like for afterwards. You’re going to need it.

 

Actually a few of us are meeting at a bar before...I think I'll need it before and after!

WTF ?? I thought the realignment looked OK but now I'm not so sure. But IDGAF because...HOCKEY !!

I thought the Seattle Kraken was going to be playing this season but just looked it up and they aren't in until the 21-22 season.

 

How did it go? Did you live?

 

Anyone hear of the casual fan can get into the games this year or is it going to be restricted to the season ticket holder’s lottery?

Sorry, forgot the update...

Man, we had the time of our lives. For starters, none of the people there knew we were coming. They had somehow conveniently forgotten to invite the most successful coach and line in the schools history (I know the current coach...we don't get along). So we simply showed up...we're alumni, what could they do?!

From the warm-up I could tell that we would have a field day. The format was the current team against the alumni, and the current team isn't very good. Our group was my son in net and two forwards that I coached that lead the league in scoring the 4 years they played. I was back on left D. The score ended up us in double digits and they scored one goal against my son...a goal knocked in by one of our D. When the game was over. all the parents in the arena came up to us asking "who are you guys!" Ends up that after 10 years we were forgotten, but not anymore. They're even supposed to be writing a story in the school paper about our old team...the last winning team in the school's history.

And we'll be back next year!
