Are you trying to figure out if it's an r or rr? J and k was 91-92 not sure if that carried over later. Fwiw that was the same in canada.
What is different about the VIN? It could possibly be a replacement frame. It doesn’t happen to be black does it? If so, it’s possibly one of the brandywine colors which were super rare. If it’s a true R version, it will have a K or an M.
Bike is imported and titled in USA now. Was just wondering if there is anything special about it and if its worth buying
Look at the swing arm pivots, the rr will have adjustable inserts. Also will have aluminum tank. Triples were adjustable too if I recall correctly. Flatslides .
There won’t be anything super special about it outside of potentially being an R model. Kawi didn’t have any other special models than the R for 93-95. If it’s an R, it’s rare and worth buying even for parts. Easiest way to tell other than vin is it will have an adjustable swing arm pivot if the bodywork is missing.
https://andys-kawasaki-zxr-zx7r-tribute-site.net/model-history/ There you go. Looks like L is the standard
Ok, its just a regular zx7, nothing special. Except 58k kilometers on the clock and not ran in 5 years
What's super odd is that you hardly ever see one in the vintage classes for how popular they were. I have often thought about finding one and redoing it just for a fun project.
I’ve quite often wondered why I never see them myself on the grids. Had a pipe dream plan of prepping one a few years back, but never found one.
How much they asking? might be a fun project but whatever you put into it you'll never come close to recouping the cash. I always wanted one but the GSXR was always a better bike in almost every way.
