Ok, so I tried something, and so far it has worked. I have some intake boots for my project XS400 street tracker that had surface cracking. They were not cracked all the way through, just on the surface. I also had some spray on flexseal sitting around. So I did what any cheap bastard would do and coated the boots with about 5 coats of the flexseal. And boom, it worked. The cracks are all sealed up, and the boots seem to be good to go. Looks like I just saved myself enough money to buy a case of beer. Yea to cheap bastards.
I read your post in Phil Swift's voice. It was very convincing. I'm looking for something to flexseal right now.
We always have it with us hunting. Will seal up a boot quick and animals don’t seem to be put off by the smell.
FlexSeal rocks. you can line tubes with it when you want to ship liquids and don’t have a container for it.

Good to know for a quick repair for sure. But yes you are a cheap bastard. Those fucking things are probably hard as rocks to. The next time the carbs have to come off you are probably going to cuss and swear at yourself
