The frame by frame shows the ignition was underneath the rocket, not the flare. Obviously a major malfunction.

Was watching it live...that was incredible. Looked like another GSE connection fault or something, hope they get those in line soon. Edit: who knows what actually caused it. At least the next one is just about ready to go!

Amazing..We can land a rocket standing up vertically, on a floating platform, on a rolling ocean but can't get groups of people to stop burning down their own neighborhoods. We are a weird species.
