Thoughts on a used CPO? Kind of dig the idea of a diesel and they don't offer them anymore. Given the extra maintenance is it actually any cheaper to drive. Is it junk Should I run away?
I strongly considered one before going with the diesel Audi. An acquaintance has one (a 2014, I believe) with propane injection and has had no issues with it.
My buddy is a BMW/Mini tech and he says to stay away. We have a 2012 X5M with the S63 motor and love it...
Drove one (a six) in Germany and it was neat enough. Coming from VW/ Audi the controls were a bit weird to me but it torqued away from the line like a fat guy in cleats after a doughnut. I liked it but wanted a previous body style Q7. Just worked better for me. Sorry I was no help.
I had one to about 120k miles Was outstanding , never popped a check engine light , never into dealer - it was shocking how good it was . Should have kept it ☹️got great gas mileage and I towed a small boat , jet skis , even a car trailer with it .
I just bought a 535d with a similar motor (N57) and all I can say about the motor is I have never been in love like this before. I am confident I am going to lose my license soon.
Still amazes me people buy European vehicles that aren't a Porsche. I like to live dangerously but dam.
For the price, I'd look into a Diesel Porsche Cayenne. early last year i was in the market for a diesel SUV/Truck. around the $35-40K price drove: X5 35D Audi Q7 diesel Porsche Cayenne diesel VW Toureg LOVED the P car over all of them. Q7 2nd place then the Bimmer.. Ended up going with a 2015 RAM 2500 6.7 Cummins because I wasn't sure if i was ever going to give up racing cars and I wanted to be able to easily pull an enclosed. I didn't even start the race car last year and I ended up selling it this January.. Wish I would have picked up the Porsche.. Although I do like the truck a lot. I drove it on a long trip with no load and I pulled 26mpg with it.. Only real gripe is that its a crew cab long bed, and parking it is fucking ridiculous.
I wanted a diesel Q7 but whenever they came up at te dealerships, they were sold in hours (even the ugly brown ones).
No sir. (not yet anyway, its got over 100k on it now so that's in the works as soon as the emissions stuff starts failing) Just 65-75mph with 2 kayaks in the bed. When my wife drove so I could watch the WSBK race she was getting 22mpg tuckin in and out of semi's... she's not very smooth on throttle though.
