I saw the Whitbread boats leave Annapolis I think in 89. I was able to get on the starter boat, a coast guard cutter that was captained by a guy who I think was like 22. Pretty amazing.. toe, if you have time you should check this out. I saw it last year and it was entertaining. Tracey Edwards father raced the iomtt! It's not a technical film about sailing so much. More a personal experience point of view but some really great insight into what the early days were like. Those boats were some real parties until Peter Blake showed up d started kicking ass. He won America's cups and a few Whitbread races. He was killed in the late 90s while exploring the Amazon by pirates.
