I just got home from our Marine Corps Birthday ball last night and am so glad it only comes once a year. Boy do Marines know haw to party
Cake cutting ceremony tomorrow at the 5-sided funny house tomorrow. Okay next month I will start working out:up:
Yes I know this is a 10 year old thread but it was the first one someone already refreshed. I told my son it was the Marine Corps birthday today. He asked when did it start? I had him dig up my "Practical Knowledge" book from boot camp, down in a box in the basement, (yes I still have it from 1989) to look it up. He found the student outline with the answer: 10 November 1775 - Tun Tavern Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Now he's sitting on the couch reading my "Guidebook for Marines"...he's 9 years old...OOHRAH!
Not sure what your point is? Yes I had my son look up the answer to his question which forced him to read a book that I hadn't touched in 30 years...instead of just giving him the answer. With the end result being, him choosing to read another Marine Corps book. Don't turn this thread into something that it isn't.
