Can anyone give me details as to how to remove the buttons from the front brake rotors from a 06-16 R6? Tried drilling and it doesn't work, tried grinding and it takes forever. Doesn't look like a traditional rivet you can drill out. Thanks in advance!

How did it not work? Could you not clamp them tight enough to prevent spinning or was the drill bit not sharp enough to cut them?

    Tried it. Didn't work.

I was able to clamp it. Will try some new bits to see if anything changes.

I used a small dremel cutting wheel to split them into two on my kawaski.

I tried that too! Unfortunately the way they are joined together doesn't allow them to separate when cut. One side of the rivet must be grinded in order to remove the rivet.

Get a cobalt bit and drill slow.

They are replacement brembo buttons. I purchased from Kurvey Girl.

A good 1/2" drill bit oiled and about 40 minutes will have them off. I drilled the washer side and used a vice grip on the other to keep it from spinning. A drill press at slow speed would be awesome and easier. Debating on painting the carrier, yellow might be cool lol :)

The buttons are stainless? right? People drill wayyyyyy too fast in stainless. Bit speed needs to be cut in 1/2 or so from regular steel.
