Been getting help for my 10 years of workplace abuse/etc.....slowly getting better. Vertigo is gone. Gaining control of my hands again. I am setting all my machines up in mom's 3-car garage, not to make money, but to hobby/mentally heal. Low mi 1980's Bridgeport, tight/smooth w/ German XYZ digi, and 360-vice, large sine-vice, and hori/vertical chuck, plus unlimited tooling. Lathe is a Beautiful 1967 1-owner (Hobbyist) Clausing 5900 in like new condition, w/ all the Clausing accessories, Royal production collet lever assy, 4-jaw, Buck 'centering/concentric' 3-jaw, + tons and tons of German/Jap tooling. Horizontal saws, chop saws, grinders, buffers, etc, etc, etc, etc. Garage has been wired for all machines. When I finally drug my welder out of the building, it was chaos (2018).......ex-employer said it was now his welder, not leaving building. As I drug it out anyways, he was pilfering the equipment/accessories. He got my gauges, gloves, helmet, respirator, an welding sticks/material and an argon tank. I got new cheap/chino gauges locally as well as a small argon tank. The Tig is Miller Syncrowave 180Sd. I have to buy Tillman deerskin gloves, Miller auto-darkening helmet, and Miller 1/2 respirator. I just finished building a new solid welding bench tonight. Where is the best place to look online for these 3 items? Any suggestions on specific helmet??? I like to be around $100 +/- for (Miller) auto-helmet. Thank you. SpeedyE
I like this helmet but it says it only protects you from 20-amps.....my welder goes to 180 amps ?????? https://www.weldersupply.com/P/559/MillerClassicSeriesAutoD
F@ck, I needed space so I just gave away two sets of nearly new gloves, a leather sleeve, a auto tinting helmet and some other shit maybe 2 weeks ago. No gauges or sticks though. I'll dig around to see if there is anything else left.
Never seen an "AMP Rating" on a helmet..just Shade Ratings...typically a good helmet will give plenty of UV Protection even if it does not cycle..it will still prevent UV Arc Burn Make sure you are not buying a KnockOff Helmet..buy from a reputable seller. (Make sure you don't have your cell phone facing the helmet..it will activate it, just an FYI) (I do not recommend any helmet from HarborFreight ...sorry) I have went to buying most of my consumables online because AirGas has bought up all the welding supply companies so no more Mom & Pop owned places anymore... Ebay Sellers, IOC, CyberWeld etc all have good pricing online and mostly free shipping.
Dave, you Hooked me up with that super-package back in 2016.....To this day, I am still thanking you.
